Each month, portfolio managers guide their respective teams in preparing for the upcoming investment pitch. Together, the teams conduct research, perform analysis, and assemble investment banking grade presentations that capture their due diligence while effectively communicating their thesis.
Through this process, students not only gain real-world knowledge and skills, but also build lifelong relationships with their peers and managers.
Each month, student teams present their pitches in front of the Spindletop Advisory Committee, who provides valuable feedback and asks critical questions. Unlike traditional classroom settings, where students only present to classmates and professors, Spindletop provides a real-world environment where students pitch to seasoned professionals.
The Advisory Committee plays a crucial role in evaluating the pitches, providing guidance, and helping students to refine their presentations. Only after the board approves an investment proposal is it added to the fund, reflecting Spindletop's high standards for investment decisions.
